Firewind was first exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe in 2023 and at Bondi Sculpture by the Sea also 2023. The piece is part of my ongoing exploration of the spiral form. Unlike previous works, I have used silver solder rather than weaving to construct the work. Although the work was originally named ‘Dancing on Air’, the nature of the process and the affects of global warming, bush fires and heat waves, it felt appropriate to rename the piece.
