‘Circle of Stones’ 2016-2020

Ginninderry, West Belconnen, ACT.

The circle of stones is a response to an interactive community survey which invited participants to imagine what they would like to see in the parklands of Ginninderry. The winning suggestion put forward by a young student was that in the new park there should be ‘a relaxing circle of stones.’

Nestled into the gentle northwestern slope near the top of the park and taking in views to the mountains, the Circle of Stones is designed as a deconstructed labyrinth. It provides a point of contemplation, a meeting place, or a space that the visitor can explore creating their own path.

Materials: Found stone, mild steel edging, landscaping materials

Dimensions: 16m x 16m
